With so many different models and variations of Apple's popular MacBook and iPad available, it can be difficult to determine exactly which model you own. This can be particularly important when purchasing accessories such as cases and screen protectors which need to match the size, shape, and features of the device with precision.
The name of the device is r good way to determine which model you're looking for. Some iPads have a "MM" designation to indicate that they're compatible with CDMA networks, while others use the "A1979" version to indicate China Mobile compatibility. Other models have a "T" designation to identify them as third-generation models. Finally, some models have a SIM card slot on the side.
Open Settings, tap General, then tap About. Look for the model number in the top section. If the number you see has a slash "/", that's the part number (for example, MY3K2LL/A). Tap the part number to reveal the model number, which has a letter followed by four numbers and no slash (for example, A2342).
